Protecting The Future

Sustainability And The Passivhaus Vision

Sustainable Options

Leaving the world a better place

Sustainable architecture is an important piece of the topic of sustainable development, a leading concern in present day planning and design. Sustainable development strives to meet the needs and conditions of life while not compromising the needs and resources of life in the future. Sustainable architecture is an important component in this model of thinking, which works to meet the same overall goal of smarter building and development. Many architects and planners are employing this mindset, and the number of new sustainable architectural projects is growing every day.

Energy Requirements

Passivhaus Construction

Passivhaus construction is a methodology which significantly reduces energy requirements and increases comfort in a building through high levels of insulation, reduced thermal bridging, low air leakage and constant fresh air provided mechanically through a heat exchanger.

Passivhaus Membership

We are members of the Passivhaus Trust. We would be delighted to talk about using the methodology for any proposed building, new and existing, domestic or commercial.

AECB Standards

The AECB Building Standard is aimed at those wishing to create high-performance buildings using widely available technology at little or no extra cost. We estimate that this low-risk option will reduce overall CO2 emissions by 70% compared to the UK average for buildings of each type. Individual self-builders and large-scale residential and non-residential developers could make a valuable contribution to low-carbon building by meeting the AECB Building Standard.
